Bayside Council needs to understand how the community uses Parks and other Open Space, what they value about them, and what can be done to improve them.
It is here where we need your help.
- Participating in Workshops and Focus groups
Note: Workshops/Focus Groups have been completed
It is vital that people in the community who cherish their Bayside Parks and Open Spaces attend at least one of the Community Forums being held beginning on Monday June 21st through to Thursday June 24th.
There will also be a range of other consultation activities occuring throughout the course of the project. They include:
- Random interviews at key parks and public areas
- Meetings and interviews with community organisations
- Listening posts at key community places, such as retail areas
We encourage you to be an active participant by contributing to some or many of the consultation activities.
Community Forums (Workshops & Focus Groups)

Bayside City Council is preparing an Open Space Strategy. This is an important strategy that will guide the planning, management and development of open space across the municipality for the next 10 years. Open space describes spaces that are set aside for things such as:
- Recreation activity (such as for sport, walking and play)
- Environmental and conservation preservation (such as nature reserves)
- The easements and corridors that we use to walk or cycle to destinations, and
- The foreshore
The image below is a "word-cloud" of inspirational words that represent people's wishes for ideal open-space attributes to consider in the development of the Open Space Strategy document, as suggested by the workshop participants.
